MUSUBU
Our moods and needs are constantly changing. Musubu [meaning: to tie, to bind, to link, to connect, to unite] is just versatile as we are. Cloths, as a metaphor for the feeling of identity, surfaces that links new to old. The textile project displays a wide spectrum of colors and forms, presenting accidental associations between layers of felted wool, pieces of reused cloths, tulle and written words. Each piece has its own function. The pictorial compositions from a distance reveal a new world full of color detail and tactility as you get closer.
Textiles are interesting in the personal stories that they can reveal, in the search for that reciprocity between sense and meaning, a whole tactile universe that fully engage the senses. A project where questions remain open, and aim to reconsider the relationship between colors, materials and textures in an artistic approach.
